Who We Are

Joe’s Barbershop began in 2004 with just one person – me, “Joe The Barber”. And ten years later, after a relocation, a fire, and the addition of 15 barbers, JOE’ BARBERSHOP has become the go-to destination for the best flat tops, mohawks, buzzes, beards and fades. I am very proud of the business I have built and take much pride in it, but none of it would be possible without the dedication and loyalty of our customers who truly make JOE’S BARBERSHOP what it is today.

Joe started his quest to be a professional barber back in 2001 when he entered Barber College at Moler Barber College in Oakland, California. After he finished Barber Collage, he went on to take and pass the California State Barber Board exam and becomes a licensed barber. Now a state licensed barber, Joe lands a job at Pasha’s Barbershop at 19th & Collingwood St. in San Francisco. Less than five months later, however, Pasha, the owner of Pasha’s Barbershop passes away which later led to the selling and renaming of the barbershop in late 2002.

In August of 2004, Joe signs a lease for JOE’S BARBERSHOP at 4102 19th St. in San Francisco. The shop’s opening was held on September 10, 2004. The mayor of San Francisco, Gavin Newsom issued a Certificate of Honor to mark the occasion. The Grand Opening Celebration was held from 8PM-11PM which saw a crowd of about 150 attend joining the celebration.

With hard work, dedication, and a firm commitment to delivering the very best personalized service to each and every client we serve, Joe’s Barbershop steadily built a solid reputation as the preferred barbershop this side of San Francisco over the years.
